The Economics Department of Ashoka University has set up the Centre for Economic Data and Analysis (CEDA) with the primary aim of facilitating informed debate about economic and social developments in India.
CEDA also aims to directly contribute to public discussions on policy relevant issues by generating written content in the form of blog posts, summaries of research papers, commentaries on economic and social issues etc.
CEDA provides tools for high quality, interactive data visualization with the power to succinctly summarise large amounts of information into clear and concise, easy to understand statements. In addition to providing data for public use, the centre will also provide valuable research and analytical experience to undergraduate and graduate students who can associate with CEDA as interns and research assistants, as well as use the data for their individual research.

Founding Members
Ashwini Deshpande is Professor of Economics and the Founding Director of Centre for Economic Data and Analysis (CEDA) at Ashoka University. Her Ph.D. and early publications have been on the international debt crisis of the 1980s. Subsequently, she has been working on the economics of discrimination and affirmative action, with a focus on caste and gender in India.

Anisha Sharma is Assistant Professor of Economics and the Founding Member of Centre For Economic Data & Analysis. Her research interests are in the area of development economics, labour economics, firms, and public policy. Anisha completed her doctorate in Economics from the University of Oxford in 2016

Sabyasachi Das is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Ashoka University. He has received his Ph.D. in Economics at Yale University. Prior to joining Ashoka he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi. His fields of specialization are political economy, public economics, and applied microeconomics.
